I’ve been a fan of taking Saw Palmetto after discovering how much it helps me have fewer trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I’ve been taking pills and gummies with Saw Palmetto for a couple of years now and am convinced it helps.
This particular bottle has 120 capsules, so it’s good for a full quarter. The bottle states that there is 500mg in each pill, but I also noticed it says the powder is 45% extract, so I’m not sure how the math works out here. I’ve noticed that pretty much every brand I’ve tried has a different amount listed, and some want me to take it once, twice and even 3 times a day. I appreciate only having to take one of these daily, making my life slightly less complicated.
If you’re like me and have reached the age where nightly visits to the bathroom have become the norm, you might want to try these to see if it can at least cut down on the number of times those “visits” occur. For me, Saw Palmetto has taken me from an average of 4 times per night, to only two. I’ll take it!

Being someone who had teacher certification in science & has spent 25 years as a pharmacy technician, I know the value of saw palmetto for use as a prostate supplement. Concerning this certain supplier’s claim of hair growth support, I’m a little suspect. If this was an actual result of using saw palmetto, you would see this advertised everywhere…like is done for products like Rogaine (minoxidil). I’m not saying that it’s out of the question. Just use it for prostate health and any hair benefits will be happily accepted.

I like taking saw palmetto for its hair growth properties. I have read several studies that found saw palmetto increased hair growth when taken in 800mg doses or higher per day. Saw palmetto blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT. Too much DHT is what causes hair follicles to thin & stop growing in both men & women. If you take 2 of these Saint Mingiano capsules a day, you will get a full gram of saw palmetto and the bottle will last you 2 months. If you take one a day, the 120 capsules will last you 4 months. That’s a really good deal for a pure one ingredient supplement.

The formulation of the Saint Mingiano Advanced Prostate Supplements has the same active ingredients as one I’ve been using for several years, as an ‘off-the-shelf’ alternative available only from a large super-retailer, at a significantly higher price on a per dose basis. I’m not completely typical of a 77 year-old, in that I have no major health issues for which I take prescription drugs, and have had no need to see a Doctor for medical issues, but I am at that point where the urinary difficulties of an elderly male for which the product is aimed at reducing, do randomly make themselves evident.
Typically, when not taking the pills, I might be just fine for one or more days in a row, to perhaps a week, and then finding difficulties for a lesser period, but with varying degrees of impact, but never to the point of being beyond an annoyance. With the pills, the length of the ‘normalcy’ is increased, and the difficulties decreased, and the level of difficulty with it. I cannot speak to the Hair and Skin benefits, noting no changes, but I do have an unusual neuropathy which impacts my skin in ways which could easily inhibit any such benefit.
Likes: Amazon availability is a plus for me, as the retailer in question is quite distant, making it inconvenient and notably impacting on price, due the high cost of gas, these days. And that’s the main like: savings. More pills, requiring only one a day instead of two, for three months per bottle rather than one. Performance is rather immediate, compared to some health aids, which might take a week or more before one notices any benefit. Taking these has proven a rather seamless transition. The old ones were equally responsive. The reverse seems true, if one stops for a period, and you realize it fairly quickly, and get back on track. To be clear, this does not ‘end’ my issues, but it does noticeability reduce occurrence rates, duration of issues, and degree of impact, to the point where it is no longer truly annoying. If one’s experience were more serious than mine, I would hope that it might reduce it to simply being annoying.
Dislikes: these are capsules, a thin-shelled ‘plastic-looking’ gelatin capsule in two halves you can usually see through, perfectly rounded at the ends of their tubular shape (image). They contain non liquid ingredients, whereas the others I had used were softgel caps, all one piece of a denser, squishy material, with a touch of a football shape at the ends, containing liquid medicine. The reason for disliking these, is that I happen to have an unusual throat irregularity which, for reasons beyond understanding, make it more difficult for me to take capsules, and if not very careful, I have inhaled them, which in general can prove to be a serious medical concern such that immediate consultation with a physician is advised. You would already know if you have such an issue, if you’ve ever had them in other products, they are visually unique: you can see the material inside, and it is a non liquid, whereas softgels only contain liquids.

I got this for my dad and he says it works and really helps him.
It’s a 4 month supply and the price is very affordable. My dad says he sees a big improvement and goes to the bathroom maybe 2-3 times less which is something, right? Tablets are pretty big, but he got used to it and you only take 1 a day. You have to wait a few days to see results, but once it kicks in it works.
When is comes to saw palmetto he says he doesn’t see much difference, but I think in order to see results of that you might need to wait even longer and be consistent with taking these supplements.
