    I’m a fan of the hymnologie skincare line, but this isn’t my favorite product. Regardless, I like it plenty to use — it applies easily (if not, I generally just need more) and absorbs completely in less than ten minutes. It’s a dry oil and doesn’t leave my skin looking slick or oily which is great. The scent is unique and I can’t quite pin it, but I like the scent (and it wears off very soon after application).

    My January 2024 order of ‘Hymnologie Replenishing After Shower Body Oil 3.4 fl. oz.’ arrived as a glass bottle in a paperboard box; neither the box nor the bottle had any sort of consumer protection seal (shrink wrap or tape seal, for example). The bottle’s plastic lid pulls off to reveal a dispenser pump which releases a few drops of oil at a time. According to several fashion websites I found the Hymnologie company is located in Canada, but I could not find any country of origin for this product on the packaging or on the Hymnologie website itself. The box does state that the product is imported, but doesn’t say from where. I also cannot find any expiration or best by date other than the standard ’12M’ symbol which indicates the product is best used within 12 months of opening the bottle.

    I always have dry skin on my arms (especially during the winter) so I was interested to try this body oil on my arms. One of the oil’s ingredients, jojoba oil, is specifically meant to hydrate and nourish skin. I’ve been used this oil for two weeks on my arms and I think it is working well to keep my upper arms and especially my elbows from drying out so fast after a morning shower. Once a small amount is applied, the oil seems to absorb fast enough that your skin doesn’t feel oily or sticky. So far no adverse reactions from using this body oil. The oil does have a strong initial herbal scent, but the scent mostly dissipates in an hour or so. Basically I just need one pump for each arm, so I think this bottle will last for several months at least.

    This oil is a lifesaver for my dry, thirsty skin. A few drops go a long way, and it absorbs quickly without leaving me feeling greasy. After using it for a while, my skin definitely feels softer, smoother, and more hydrated. No more flaking or tight feeling – just pure, happy skin.

    This oil feels good on the skin but I find the smell too strong to do my upper body. The scent isn’t sharp but very floral. I find that it warms the skin when you apply it and feels nice for moisturizing. I have to wash my hands well with soap after applying because of the scent though.

    The oil was okay but it’s more like some $5-10 oil you get at a random store if you ask me. The smell was kinda odd, maybe a bit like bergamot I guess. The oil itself is basically a plain old oil and you could honestly get the same effect with a big bottle of sweet almond oil or like literally anything instead. My gripe with this was that the glass bottle is quite slippery after a shower or if you’ve got oily hands (from putting oil on yourself) and the pump is really hard to depress so it slipped out of my hands and chipped some enamel off my tub, actually. The bottle itself was fine–I guess that’s why I’m giving it two stars? But it just wasn’t worth the whole effort for me.

    This oil is great for after shower application. It goes on smoothly (recommended to apply to wet skin to help keep the moisture in). It dries fairly quickly and doesn’t leave skin too greasy. I actually had to apply a moisturizer on top of this because my skin didn’t feel hydrated enough. I really don’t care for the scent. It’s a mix of essential oils I believe. Maybe frankinscense? I don’t know how to describe it, maybe like slightly earthy like a lavender scent . I don’t care for it. I don’t think I will use again just because of the scent.

    I am going to give it to my sister because she likes the smell. Just my preference. The bottle looked very good on my shower ledge though. 🙂

    The Replenishing After Shower Body Oil smells of the geranium oil in it. If you like putting oil on yourself after a shower or bath, this will work but it seems to be rather pricey. You could easily go through a bottle a week or more.

    Most of the main ingredients aren’t that expensive. As we go down the list, the more expensive ones are at the bottom meaning there’s not as much as the main oils. Do these other oils really add any benefit?

    It would be cheaper to just make your own. Personally, I don’t like the geranium scent which overwhelmingly smells of. I can’t see paying this much money for 100 ml of any oil.

    This dry oil is a blend of nourishing and non-greasy oils:

    Frankincense Oil: Offers anti-aging benefits and promotes relaxation with its earthy aroma, helping to reduce wrinkles and tighten skin.
    Geranium Oil: Balances oil production and enhances mood with its floral scent, while tightening skin and promoting cell renewal.
    Grapefruit Oil: Evens skin tone and fights free radicals with its rich vitamin C content, providing an energizing and mood-lifting citrus aroma.

    The oil comes well packaged in a dark glass pump bottle. Highly recommend it for dry and delicate skin like your décolletage.
