This is a really lovely body scrub. It arrived nicely packaged in a cardboard box, which made me think that it would actually be a really nice gift for someone.
It’s a very mild body scrub; more like a creamy lotion with a few bits of coffee in it. I’ve used other coffee scrubs that have a lot more coffee in, and leave me feeling as if I’m trying to rinse sand off my skin before I get out of the shower. I actually prefer this one; it feels as if the cream itself has moisturizing properties, and the coffee grounds are just a little bonus, to wake the skin up a little. The fragrance is mild, and the scrub goes onto wet/damp skin really smoothly, rubs in nicely, then doesn’t take forever to rinse off.
There’s a warning on the jar about the possibility that it might cause a slick bathtub, but I haven’t noticed that at all. The scrub doesn’t feel super-greasy or anything. I get keratosis pilaris (skin bumps) on the tops of my arms, but I find that it stays away if I use a good exfoliator and moisturizer. This whipped body scrub is working very well for that. Five stars, with no hesitation. This is a product that I could happily use forever and not complain about it.

I was excited to try this but I think I got an old batch? When something is whipped it’s normally light and fluffy. This was hard as a rock. I had to dig my finger into it with my nail. It’s also off color which is another reason I think it’s old or just a bad batch. The two tone colors are different than the photo

The box this body scrub came in was sealed with an expiration sticker but the jar itself did not have any safety seal. This scrub stinks! It already has that awful plasticky smell like expired lotion. I did not detect any coffee-like scent whatsoever. I don’t know if I got an old jar but my experience with this product is much different than others’ reviews.
It’s solid in the tub and I had some difficulty scooping some out. It is slightly gritty but I found the creamy part of the formula difficult to melt/spread and difficult to rinse. My hands are softer after testing it on them but I won’t be using this on my body. I do not like this product at all.

I love body and room products that are citrus, especially lemon, orange and grapefruit. This is very nicely scented lemon and I’m not disappointed in that! I did not notice a lemon scent on my body afterwards. I would have liked that or been fine with that, but it was not noticeable. A couple of things i did find unusual about this product. The contents are two-toned — a minty green and a yellow, and you can see where the color demarcation line through the container and when looking at the top. At first I thought it was old and had gotten discolored, but after studying it realized it is just that way. For yourself it’s fine, but if gift giving then it would be a nicer presentation mixed up. Also, the actual product is not really a scrub, to me. It comes out more like a heavy paste, like a soap paste, and then lathers up when spreading it around your body. I only detected a few scrubbing crystals. I still liked it, but I’d call it more of a body wash paste than a true scrub.

Naturally Vain Java Scrub Whipped Body Scrub
This scrub is very refreshing and exfoliating – it removes any dead skin and leaves a bit of oil behind for moisturizing. The light coffee scent will wake you up and it feels energizing. This is the right amount of texture to remove any dead skin and feels wonderful. If you have super dry skin that flakes, a scrub like this is a must.
I love how this works on my hands though – this is the best scrub for removing dead skin and softening your hands that I have used. I work in the garden a lot and don’t always wear gloves – this removes dirt and debris.

This was the most strange body scrub I have ever used.
When I received this, the first thing I noticed was the smell. The citrus scent is a lovely aroma that filled my nose the second I opened the package. When I opened the jar, I noticed the two-toned color; I thought perhaps my jar was defective, so I checked the listing photos and it appears that it was made to be that way, which is the first odd choice I noticed, but we’ll roll with it. I also noticed how thick it was, which is another odd choice, but again, I assumed it would work out.
Well like most people, I am a little absent-minded, so I set it on the bathroom counter and forgot about it for over a week. When I remembered about it, I grabbed it and used it in the shower, and I noticed the colors had already changed – what started with an abundance of green and a hint of orange was now nearly half-and-half. After seeing the different colors in the product listing I was not surprised at the two-toned color, but I was surprised that it had changed over time. I used it anyway, and once again struggled with the consistency. Every other scrub I have used was easy to scoop – almost a gel-like substance, to an extent, and very easy to apply. This one was more like clay mud. I had to dig in it with my fingernails to pull enough out to use. I have sensory issues and having substances of any kind under my nails makes me very uncomfortable.
It also did not exfoliate my skin like other scrubs I have used. It uses apricot shell as exfoliant which has significant potential, but there was not nearly enough in there to actually remove the dead skin so it did not feel any different than a standard body wash.
I wanted to love this because it smelled amazing, it is a large jar compared to its competitors, and the packaging and labeling is beautiful, but this one just did not hold up to its claims. It is also very expensive ($20.00 at the time of this review).
