I was very surprised when I received this oil cleanser to find no directions anywhere on the packaging or on the box. I found this very frustrating, but after looking it up I was very happy after using it with the directions I found. It turns out you need to products in order for this oil cleanser to work well. Thankfully, I had already ordered both. You need the booster along with the oil cleanser. The way you use it as you use four pumps of the cleanser and massage it gently all over your face and neck. Then you use two pumps of the booster and apply that on top and massage it into the oil cleanser. And finally you rinse it off with a lot of water. It’s a lovely experience and has the. nicest scent of maybe any face cleanser I have ever used. I wish I could describe it, and I’ve been trying to think of how to, but the words just won’t come. It feels and smells luxurious that’s all I can say. It removed my make up and left my skin, super soft and not at all over dried or stripped. Very happy to have discovered this wonderful line.

This is a fancy product. It is a booster that needs to be paired with the brand’s facial cleanser. This product itself is not the cleanser! You can buy different boosters to add to the cleanser depending on your skin’s needs. This one is for dry skin. I just add a pump or two to my cleanser along with a little water and wash my face. My skin is normally so dry in the colder weather and this leaves it feeling soft and clean without feeling tight or dry. It does a good job at removing face makeup, I don’t notice any on my towel. It is a little expensive, especially because you have to buy both the booster and the cleanser, but it does do a great job. A unique product in that you can mix and match the boosters to customize your routine.

First, It smells different. I was concerned that this product seemed like there had been too much water in the solution. Given the cost, I feel that their current formulation has drastically changed, or someone is replacing some of the product with water. Honestly, you need to pump 5 times from a small bottle to get an adequate amount. That and you apply another Hy-Ol prduct to create an emulsion. 10 pumps. total and the bottles are emptying fast Fishy.

Boy, did I mess up and use this wrong at first. Admittedly, I had forgotten what the product page wrote about this item by the time that I received this. It does say on the box that it is a cleanser, but my eyes have a tendency to ignore fine print because it’s difficult to see clearly. The larger print calls this a booster. Yeah, I have old eyes. That’s usually something that you mix or layer with other skincare products. So before I finally did wash my face with this; which is good, by the way; I had experimented with mixing this with a just okay body lotion and slathered them both on my dry legs. Interestingly enough, this turned a just okay body lotion into a very good body lotion. LOL. Left my legs feeling incredibly soft, smooth and hydrated. Wasn’t sticky or oily feeling either. So if I ever decide not to use this for facial cleansing, I’ll always have a good booster for my body lotion.
It is an odd thin and watery substance for being a facial cleanser. If I didn’t know any better, which apparently I didn’t, I would have assumed that this was a toner. But it was that word booster that threw me off. It cleans well enough and I do really like this for my mature combination skin that still can get problematic at this latter stage of my life. Gets into the pores and clears away excess sebum and sloughs away dead skin cells. Helps to prevent clogging without leaving the skin feeling dry. A pretty good clarifying and hydrating cleanser for all skin types.
The absolute only thing that I would recommend to the company is to include the word cleanser up higher on the box with the main labeling to make it very clear what this is without the consumer having to read further on. You never want to make the customer do the work that your advertising team should be doing for you. You also should never assume that everyone has refined eye sight. Most of we oldsters don’t. With that said, my experience was just another case of finding a useful product to use for other purposes by accident. In the end, everything worked out well.
