This product works well at meeting or exceeding the item it compares itself against. Application was smooth and it absorbed well. I did not feel greasy after, rather just well moisturized. Considering that I frequently used the alternative option to moisturize, I’m more than happy to stick with this as a better, natural option. I only wish I’d heard about it sooner as I would have preferred using this on my child’s sensitive skin.

I received the Vegaline – 100% Natural, Vegan & Hypoallergenic Alternative to Petroleum Jelly in the mail & upon opening the package noticed it had melted out of the seal. But it was ok! I used the excess on my hands & legs and immediately knew I was going to like it.
There is no smell to this stuff which means you can put it on & layer it with your perfume for staying power. I have now used it on my cuticles. Face. Lips. Eyelids for scaling. It removes makeup. It is perfect after a shower. Makes your feet look nice. Elbows, kneecaps…super moisturized! Have flyaway hairs? a small small amount will fix that! It doesn’t leave you feeling greasy like petroleum jelly. It absorbs nicely. I really do like it, A LOT! You don’t need a lot of it, either!

There was a tiny bit of residue on the outside of the container when it arrived…I am guessing it melted in the heat during transport and that little bit managed to make it through the lid. I would say that Vegaline being considered an alternative to petroleum jelly is accurate—it has a similar consistency and does well as a moisturizing balm. It seems like it absorbs faster into my skin than petroleum jelly, which I find helpful. It has a very faint waxy scent which isn’t noticeable unless I am actively sniffing it to look for a scent. The fact that Vegaline melts in heat is important to keep in mind to avoid leaking (especially since petroleum jelly normally doesn’t have that issue in heat). This product is made in Canada.

This is supposed to be an alternative to vaseline; and while I love having an alternative I think it’s not quite there, yet.
It’s very good but the texture is off just a little. I have used it on those scaly dry skin patches and it works well, although it tends to absorb into the skin – unlike vaseline; but then that’s probably a *good* thing.
As long as the price point remains as it is, I imagine it will remain out of the reach of many of us.

I do not use any petroleum based products and I am very impressed with the quality of this product. It applies smoothly and is not too greasy. I have used it for everything you would use Vaseline for. I highly recommend this vegan alternative. Smell free and works well.

I had heard about Vegaline on comment boards, so I was excited to try it. I’m not too fond of Vaseline because of how sticky and uncomfortable it feels, but I also recognize its necessity for those of us who suffer from compromised skin barriers. I was interested in this product because I hoped it would be an upgrade to Vaseline. I also like that it’s made from plants and not petroleum.
I am happy to report that I prefer Vegaline to Vaseline. Vaseline tends to sit on the top of the skin and stay sticky, while this product does a better job of sinking in. I can feel it less on my body, but I know it’s there doing its occlusive thing. All this equals greater comfort. I also like how soft my skin feels when I use it. I assume that’s because it’s made with coconut wax. Coconut oil always makes my skin incredible.
I have dehydrated and very sensitive skin. I bought this product to use in areas that burn, itch, and become inflamed. Vegaline felt soothing and did not burn during or after application.
I bought the 8 oz jar and quickly realized I could have sized down. A little bit goes further than the same amount of Vaseline. Unlike Vaseline, the oils in Vegaline quickly melt on the skin and become very spreadable. That leads me to the only area where Vaseline has a small edge over Vegaline for some applications. My jar has been on the edge of liquifying since it arrived because the melting point of plant oils is lower. As a result, the consistency is more like a cake batter that melts into oil upon touch than a heavy paste you can pile on the skin. This isn’t an issue for what I use it for, but it may be for your purposes.
Overall, it’s a good alternative. I especially love that a small business makes the product in Canada, so I don’t have to worry about health or ethical concerns.

This is not only a solid alternative for vaseline, but an improvement in some ways. It has a thinner texture, making it better as a makeup remover or moisturizer, and it doesn’t smell like petroleum. It does tend to melt very easily though. It turned to liquid even in my air conditioned apartment during a particularly bad heat wave, so I recommend keeping it in the refrigerator if it gets hot. And while petroleum doesn’t tend to cause breakouts due to the particles being too large to clog pores, this might actually cause some pimples in people with very sensitive skin. I have dry skin and didn’t get any breakouts using it on my face as a night moisturizer.
