The review is for Integrative Therapeutics Curalieve Bioavailable Curcumin CurcuRouge. Therabiopharma developed and markets a curcumin extract formulation advertised as being highly soluble. Integrative Therapeutics uses this formulation in their Curalieve product. CurcuRouge is supported by a double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, search the National Library of Medicine website Pubmed for CurcuRouge. These being said, the formulation appears to be a solid replacement of common curcumin containing supplements, even those with a standardized extract, due to its enhanced solubility and hence bioavailability. Curcumin is considered a DNA methylation modulator/adaptogen. Overall, excellent formulation.

With this supplement you are paying more for a form of curcumin called CurcuRouge which is over 3 times more bioavailable. I like to use this supplement for better joint health. You do get 60-day supply and serving size is 2 capsules that are easy to swallow.

This is Integrative Therapeutics Curalieve – Dietary Supplement with Bioavailable Curcumin. The
curcumin is some kinda of fancy extract but curcumin is the stuff that folks often look for when they are taking a Turmeric supplement. They call the extract curcuRouge which is a registered trademark for this type of extract or maybe it’s named after the process of creating the extract. There are 120 capsules at 2x day the bottle will give you 60 days worth. I don’t know if the price is worth it, but you may want to shop around and compare. Check with your doctor before starting to take a new supplement.

I have been taking curcumin supplements for a couple of years now at my doctor’s suggestion for anti-inflammatory pain relief as needed. I find it works just as well, if not better, at relieving pain compared to ibuprofen and acetaminophen, especially menstrual pain. My favorite curcumin brand has been Curcumin 95 made by Jarrow Formulas for its effectiveness, quality/safety, and affordability, at ~$30 for 120 single-capsule servings, each containing 475mg of curcuminoids. By comparison, this curcumin supplement, Curalieve, by Integrative Therapeutics contains 60 two-capsule servings containing 450mg for $98.50. That’s approximately 6x the price of Jarrow’s formula per serving.
However, what sets Curalieve apart from most other curcumin supplements is that it contains curcuRouge. According to Integrative Therapeutics, curcuRouge is the “newest advancement in curcumin delivery technology [which] uses an amorphous form rather than crystalline” and “is over 3x more bioavailable than submicron-particle colloidal dispersion [forms] of curcumin”. On Integrative Therapeutics’ webpage for this product, they cite research studies to support their claim. The non-paywalled research that I could access appears promising, although many will reasonably balk at paying 6x more for a supplement that is 3x more bioavailable than other curcumin supplement formulas. For what it’s worth, I’ve taken it once for severe menstrual pain instead of my usual curcumin supplement by Jarrow and did not feel a significant difference in the degree of pain relief provided. So, at least for my purposes, Curalieve does work as a pain reliever, but you may want to do your own research into curcuRouge’s other benefits vs regular curcumin extract before deciding whether or not to pay more for it.
Curalieve seems to be very high quality formula. According to Integrative Therapeutics’ website, they have been in business for over 35 years, and their products are manufactured in their NSF-certified GMP-registered facilities which are independent third party audited, and all of their finished products undergo in-house testing for purity, potency, safety, and bioavailability. They also claim to conduct “stringent testing on ingredient samples. All materials are subject to identity, potency, microbiological, and purity tests. Integrative Therapeutics monitors and tests each and every lot purchased to ensure that quality is maintained”. I was disappointed that they do not publish these test results (at least not anywhere I could find), and appear to only use in-house testing as opposed to third party lab testing on their products. That being said, because Integrative Therapeutics’ in-house lab is ISO-accredited and they are a reputable nutritional supplement company with high manufacturing standards and have been around for decades, I feel safe taking this supplement and don’t doubt it should provide at least as much benefit as comparable curcumin supplement brands.
I have deducted one star because of the high cost of this formula and because of Integrative Therapeutics’ decision not to publish the safety and quality control test results for it.
I hope you have found my unbiased review and photos of this product helpful.

My targeted goal in including curcumin into my regimen was geared toward its antioxidant factor and possible role in fighting amyloid plaques in the brain that contribute to dementia. Inflammation is believed to be the precursor to perhaps most disease. Free radicals are naturally produced as a byproduct of respiration and cell metabolism. Basically, oxygen, which is a two edged sword, is hungry to secure extra electrons into its outer shell. That hunger can strip other molecules it contacts of their electrons causing imbalances and havoc. Curcumin’s structure is supposed to inhibit that action most effectively and therefore lessen inflammation which is the immune system’s first line of defense in it’s knee jerk response to all threats it detects. I don’t use Tumeric in my cooking and diet so supplementation is the logical go to. This formulation seems to be produced by a reputable company with a high quality product. It’s impossible to gauge its actual efficacy by how you feel but I believe it is doing its job and can recommend it, especially to anyone who has no tumeric in their diet and routine. The only caveat is value. Of course, it seems every product has scores of sources vying for your hard earned salary so it is wise to factor value into your equation. This offers 450 mg of curcumin per 2 capsule serving at a cost of a dollar and a half per serving. Not unreasonable for a health improving supplement. However, a similar product that has a huge following on Amazon is offering 1000 mg per serving for less than one fourth the price, if my math is correct. My reasoning then, is that this is a high quality product that may offer some superior edge that I don’t see or understand, but as in all things, it is always wise to consider value in your purchase decisions.
